Bra cups too tall: a shape problem that looks like a size problem

Tall cups can create empty space or rubbing even when the lower cup volume is close.

Typical signs

Look for gaping near the strap, fabric reaching unusually high, rubbing at the front of the armpit, or straps attaching very far outward.

Check the lower cup

If the lower and central cup are filled and the wire follows the breast root, height is a stronger suspect than global oversizing.

Compare lower-coverage cuts

Demi and balconette styles are often shorter, but labels are not standardized. Compare actual construction.

Separate strap placement

Wide-set straps can cause similar rubbing even when cup height is reasonable.

Use this as a next-test guide, not a promise. Brand patterns and labels vary. Change one variable at a time when possible.

What to do next

Use Bra Fit Rescue with the bra you have already tried. The tool combines band, cup, wire, center, strap, wear, and asymmetry signals rather than treating one symptom in isolation.
